Persian Model 1909
MAKE ME AN OFFER.
I discovered this magnificent sword after my mother, Dr. Col. Gwen Robbins, passed away in 1997. She was a professor at New Mexico Military Institute and a regional director for AIFS, the American Institute of Foreign Studies. She traveled the world extensively every summer, leading groups of college students. I have absolutely no idea where she acquired this, or if it was a gift from one of her students.
A helpful member tells me it is a Persian Model 1909, which was patterned after the Imperial Russian 1881 dragoon saber.  There is some speculation it was made under contract with the Russians.  The markings on the hilt and the blade are the Arabic numerals, 19385.
In 2008 Bonhams sold one for 9, they are rare, but not scarce.  There are others like this on eBay for less than 0 but they are shipped from China so likely Chinese knock offs.
It's been sitting in the back of a closet since 1997 in my house.  I have no idea how long my Mother had it before I found it.  It belongs with someone who will appreciate it and put it on display.  Make me a reasonable offer.

Shipping
Our items are well packed, generally in NEW boxes, with plenty of bubble pack and peanuts.
We prefer to ship with the post office, offering Priority or Ground service. Modern automated postal handling machines are not kind to fine antiques and collectables, and despite our best efforts at diligent packaging we have had items destroyed, and a few have simply vanished.
For this reason we will not ship any item with a value greater than without adding insurance.
As Ebay has no way to do this, the insurance is added as a handling fee.
Large heavy items we ship UPS ground. As we live 15 minutes from the nearest UPS store please be patient with us when purchasing a large, heavy item.
Any of our items are available for pickup at our Pinckney Michigan location. If you choose to pickup, either pay on Ebay or bring cash, we do not take checks.
If the item shows up damaged, destroyed, or doesn't show up at all YOU need to work with us, and the post office (or UPS).
We get a lot of complaints about shipping costs. We don't know what shipping cost you were quoted. Ebay quotes the shipping cost using post office or UPS API's that return the rates. When you purchase the item, we buy the shipping from Ebay, print the label, and drop it off to the post office or the UPS store. Please don't ask us to "reduce the shipping cost" - we can't. It is not under our control. You can complain that "our shipping cost is high" and we will be happy to listen but there is nothing at all we can do about it. Please don't counter offer with "X amount including shipping" as we do not know what your shipping cost is.
We do know through extensive research that the rate you get online, the rate you get at the counter, and the rate you get using a bulk shipper for any given package size and weight are completely different. Ebay's bulk shipping rates are lower than at the counter rates because they have large volune purchase agreements with all the major shippers.
Warranty
Nothing we sell is new. These are used items. Everything is sold AS-IS unless explicitly stated otherwise.
For electronic items we try to add a video so you can see that it works. Many of our electronic items are 20, 30, 40, even 80 years old, and they do not take kindly to being shipped. If it worked when it left our store, it worked when it left our store. If it doesn't work we will clearly state this in the description.
For Amatuer Radio gear that transmits we do not offer any returns.
