Pidion BIP-5000, a rugged PDA with programmable keys for professionals.
In its new version, this rugged terminal displays an IP56 certification (instead of IP54), which gives it resistance to splashing water, dust, drops and extreme temperatures.
Still equipped with a large 3.5-inch LCD screen, it now leaves the choice between Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows CE 5.0 or Windows Mobile 6.0 systems (Windows Mobile 6.0 in addition).
The machine remains powered by an Intel PXA270 processor at 520 MHz and equipped with 128 MB of RAM. It offers GSM / EDGE / Wi-Fi communications, GPS navigation (now standard), a digital camera with 2 Megapixel sensor and flash and a 1D / 2D barcode reader.
For data, it has 256 MB of internal memory (against 128 MB previously), expandable via a MiniSD slot and synchronizable via USB or Bluetooh. The rest of the datasheet discusses a serial port and infrared connectivity.
