Russo- Japanese War period Imperial Russian Medical Officer's Cap
Dark green wool cap with dark red piping, black cloth lining, leather sweatband, and lacquered fibre-board visor. Metal two-piece Civil officer's cockade.
Wool exterior in very fine condition with only slight trace of moth tracking, interior lining likewise in very fine condition.
Leather sweatband stiff but pliable, with craqleur and slight loss of finish, but otherwise intact. Finish on visor likewise cracked with tiny loss of surface finish (photos 1,2)
Two small cuts on either side of cockade on front band indicate that another badge once decorated the cap. (photos 1,2)
