    February 26, 1777 "EIGHT DOLLARS" Continental Colonial Currency Note.
    Scarce and very conservatively graded & certified by PCGS as CU61 with the look of a much higher grade.
    Rare as an uncirculated continental note, and scarce as being an example from the Feb. 26, 1777 emission. These notes were the only continentals issued from Baltimore, due to the advancing British forces. The Continental Congress (and their paper money printing financial arm) needed to relocate to Baltimore for about a year until it was safe to return to Philadelphia.
    Superb eye-appeal with deep paper embossing, colorful serial number & signatures, and this note is very darkly inked.
    There are no problems of any kind,
    and there are no pin holes.
    Bold 5-digit serial number 42882 in red ink, along with equally bold signatures of James Walker (also in red), while that of Horatio Johnson is neatly penned in dark brown ink.
    An authentic & historical item that was printed in 1777 and issued during the Revolutionary War (1775-83), just a few months after the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
