Description
Very Choice
February 17, 1776 "ONE SIXTH of a DOLLAR" Fractional Continental Colonial Currency Note. This note was printed from plate "A".
Scarce & always popular fractional note with distinctive
Benjamin Franklin designs such as the "sundial"
with "
MIND YOUR BUSINESS
" motto on the front,
and the "13 linked chains"
with "
CONTINENTAL CONGRESS - WE ARE ONE
" motto on the back side.
Very conservatively graded & certified by PMG as VF35, with the look of a much higher grade.
Superb eye-appeal
and very darkly inked with colorful serial number and handwritten signature. No problems of any kind, and there are no pin holes.
Bold 6-digit serial number 221050 in dark red ink, along with the equally bold signature of Nathan Sellers.
This is an authentic & historical item that was printed in 1776, the birthyear of our nation and issued during the Revolutionary War (1775-83),
just a few days after the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the 4th of July, 1776.
