Description
CC-18 ** PMG AU55 EPQ ** Nov. 29, 1775 Continental Colonial Currency NoteHigh Grade & Very Choice
November 29, 1775 "EIGHT DOLLARS" Continental Colonial Currency Note.
Very Conservatively graded & certified by PMG as AU55 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) with the look of even a higher grade.
Great eye-appeal
with no problems of any kind, and there are no pin holes. Very darkly inked on both sides with all text & details being crisp. The thick paper itself is deeply embossed, and contains reflective mica chips on the surfaces along with thick blue threads that are embedded into the ragpaper itself. The mica chips and the different colored threads were done on purpose as an attempt to deter counterfeiting by both the British and by local "home-grown" colonial counterfeiters.
Bold 5-digit serial number 12066 in dark red ink
, along with equally bold signatures of Stephen Collins (also in red), while the second signature is that of Samuel C. Morris (In brown ink).
An authentic & historical item that was printed and issued in 1775 during the Revolutionary War (1775-83), a little over a year before the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
