    Very Choice & 2nd Highest Grade
    November 29, 1775 "FOUR DOLLARS" Continental Colonial Currency Note.
    Conservatively graded & certified by PMG as CU64 EPQ (Exceptional paper Quality), with just superb eye-appeal. This example is
    graded higher by PMG than any other except for one single example at CU66 EPQ.
    Darkly inked (especially the seal where a boar is attacking a spear) with no problems of any kind, and there are no pin holes. Well centered with four full borders.
    Bold 5-digit serial number 36091 in red ink as is that of
    Frederick Kuhl
    , while that of
    Anthony Morris Jr.
    is boldly written in a dark brown ink.

    was born in Philadelphia in 1729. In 1752, at Philadelphia's Christ Church, Frederick Kuhl married Susanna Hillegas (1733-1769), sister of Michael Hillegas, first treasurer of the United States. During the American Revolution, Frederick Kuhl was listed in 1775 as a member of the Board of Managers at Carpenters' Hall and of the Committee of Inspection. In 1776 he was a member of Philadelphia's Committee of Safety and of the Constitutional Convention.

    ,
    a Major in the Philadelphia Light Horse Troop (America;s first cavalry unit) which served as General George Washington's bodyguard in various war campaigns from 1776 through 1777. Anthony Morris Jr, died on January 3, 1777 from wounds received during the Battle of Princeton. He was a member of the famous American colonial patriot "Morris Family" of which many members were deeply involved in the revolution both politically, economically, and on the battlefield.
