    August 18, 1775 11 Shillings Massachusetts Colonial Note PCGS AU-50 PPQ
    MA-167. 'Sword in Hand'. An iconic issue engraved and printed by Paul Revere. On the reverse, a Minuteman holds the Magna Carta. He is surrounded by the Latin Motto, 'ENSE PETIT PLACIDAM, SUB LIBERTATE, QUIETEM' (By arms he seeks peace with freedom) and the English phrase, 'Issued in Defense of American Liberty'. While 10,000 notes were issued for each denomination, most surviving examples are incomplete or pieced together from two or more notes. This example with a 'PPQ' designation would be the highlight of an advanced collection.
