    Description

For sale here is a group of 3 colonial banknotes in well circulated condition and a French assignat from 1792. The PA note is a 2 shillings from the issue of Oct. 1, 1773; the North Carolina colonial banknotes is 2 shillings 6 pence from the issue of December 1768, the Continental bill was issued November 29, 1775 and a dix sous assignat from 1792 (issued during the French Revolution) is also included. The assignat is in nice condition with a good embossed stamp on it, but the other three are in poor condition. The Continental is actually very high grade with good signatures but it has some stains and the other two are very worn and the one from NC is backed by contemporary paper. Even so, each of the colonials is fairly rare and the assignat is very nice looking, so the group has obvious  historical and educational value. This group of 250 year old paper currency is for sale here without reserve.
