    Here is a very scarce COLONY OF NEW JERSEY COLONIAL CURRENCY NOTE for
    3 POUNDS
    dated
    APRIL 8, 1762.
    Royal Arms of Great Britain at left, with motto "DIEU ET MON DROIT" (God and My Right).

    Hand signed
    by New Jersey Colonial officials Samuel Nevill, Thomas Rodman, and S. Skinner.
    This is a
    VERY SCARCE ISSUE
    . This issue was approved on March 10, 1762 as the Thirteenth War Issue of Bills of Credit (French and Indian Wars).
    The issue was legal tender until 1780.
    The 3 Pound note was the second highest denomination with just 3,330 notes printed.
    It reads: "THIS BILL by LAW shall pafs current in NEW JERSEY for EIGHT OUNCES, Fifteen PENNY-WEIGHT of PLATE.
    April 8, 1762."
    Back shows anti-counterfeiting leaf vignette.
    To counterfeit is DEATH at top. "WOODBRIDGE in NEW-JERSEY: Printed by James Parker" at bottom. NO PINHOLES.
