    Description

1754 North Carolina Colonial Note, 20 Shillings, PMG graded 10 Very Good.  Serial number 726.
The obverse declares, "Proclamation Money according to act of Assembly pass'd ye 9th of March, 1754"
The reverse, originally left blank, has a number of hand written notes, most of which appear to be initials.  The edges are frayed and exhibit some tears, but overall this note has nice eye appeal.
Before we had our own nation, the citizens were unable to mint their own coins.  As a means of exchange was needed, the various colonies began producing paper money.  This is one of the early examples, denominated in Shillings.
Opening bid is .95, so the market will determine the actual value.  As this is the first time to list this note, I will not be accepting offers, so please just bid if you are interested.  Please note we only ship to addresses within the United States, so please don't bother asking if we'll ship overseas.
Item will be packed in rigid mailer and sent via USPS First Class mail unless the buyer requests and pays for some other shipping method.
Thanks for looking, and good luck with your bids.
